Offshore

The Rochester Yacht Club is centrally located on the south shore of Lake Ontario, and provides easy access for day trips to other clubs, cruising to the St. Lawrence River & 1000 Islands to the east, the Niagara & Toronto areas to the west, and the Bay of Quinte to the North.

Our Basin is roughly a half-mile up the Genesee River allowing for protection from nearly any wind direction while being close to the open waters of Lake Ontario. With such a large footprint, we have 164 slips available for our members and visiting boats. Our marine basin has been going through multi-million dollar renovation upgrades, which started in 2016. Our vision is to provide world-class, state of the art docks for our visitors and guests. All new floating docks are equipped with 120 or 120/240 AC power, water services, WiFi is also provided. In addition, a paved dry sail area next to the basin has room for roughly fifty boats on trailers. One 2-ton and one 3-ton capacity hoists and a gin pole are available for use. At the basin entrance a 2-ton hoist and gin pole are available.

Launching and hauling of vessels with up to 14-foot beam are done with a 35-Ton Travel Lift and a 12-Ton Capacity Hoisting Trailer. Masts up to 70 feet in length and 1800 pounds can be handled and stored. Shumway Marine is located just south of our basin and has fuel available. If needed, we can help you coordinate other marine services from nearby marinas.
