Women's Racing Association
The purpose of Women’s Racing Association: To create a supportive environment for women to learn to race, refine their racing skills, and have fun on the water! The RYC WRA program is a hands-on approach in learning how to race Ideal 18 boats. The intent of our program is to teach you how to race, allow you to practice those skills in a safe learning environment, and help you gain confidence to race competitively in the Ideal 18 Race Fleet (if participant desires). You will also gain experience on different styles and size boats (e.g. Lasers, 420s, large boats). The program is focused on building racing skill sets, as well as strong camaraderie amongst our female racers.
WRA Ideal 18 Rental Program:
Costs: RYC Members: $465
Non-Members: $670
Mondays: Learn, Practice, Progress.
May through September: 5:30PM - 9:00PM
Each Monday WRA program practices starts, drills, and races on our own Ideal 18 race course. Onshore coaching focuses on learning racing rules and techniques before getting out on the water. In addition, our program has many guest instructors hailing from our highly accomplished and skilled RYC community of competitive racers.
Thursdays (optional): join the Ideal 18 Race fleet!
